Greg Koukl and Amy Hall explain that identity in Christ is not based on subjective feelings, but on objective truth revealed in Scripture. While people may feel like failures or derive their worth from others’ opinions, the Bible teaches that humans are made in God’s image and, through Christ, adopted into his family. As believers rehearse these truths, their self-understanding is renewed and grounded in God’s grace rather than personal performance.

So many people present these truths (our identity in Christ) as an automatic understanding due to being born again. It's suppose to be "one of the signs I've been truly born again." And yet, I struggle with this still even after believing myself a Christian for decades. So, according to many, I absolutely CANNOT be a true, born again Christian, because I have struggled with understanding what this means. So, is understanding this fully from the get go a sign of true salvation or is not fully understanding it a sign of being sanctified?
