Greg answers questions about apologetics resources for young children, the fate of people who never heard the gospel, catering to those who have been historically marginalized, reconciling Romans 3 with the idea that those who seek God find him, and whether the atonement is illogical.

0:00 Introduction
3:05 Do you know of any apologetics resources for children who are ages six and ten?
9:00 What happens to people who never heard the gospel or who lived before the time of Jesus? How do they get saved?
24:41 How would you respond to the idea that people who have been historically marginalized ought to be catered to?
41:32 How do you reconcile the idea that those who seek God find him with Romans 3, which says no one seeks God?
48:20 How is it logical to think that a God-man can die on a cross and absolve you of your moral shortcomings?

To Jim, at the end, I would like to say that I don't think our sins are really the point. From God's perspective, it seems to me, the problem is that we are separated from Him. Sin is how we became – and continue to be – separated, but it's the separation that seems to be the ultimate point. Therefore, God's solution of the atonement that satisfies His justice, His wrath, His virtue, etc., is God's victory over the problem, because our accuser, Satan, is playing a game of legal "gotcha." God's move is brilliant. He had a way to rescue us out of a trap, without betraying any of His character of goodness, righteousness, justice, etc. Jesus is fully God AND fully human. He is eternal, by nature, therefore His atonement (blood sacrifice and death), is eternal, whereas animal sacrifice offerings before the cross were merely temporary and had to be done repeatedly.

Finally, one caution to Jim, who said he's been in church for years:
"always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth." (2 Timothy 3:7)
I thought I heard stubbornness in his voice. Jim, be careful that it's not because you're unwilling to understand. One day, you will have quenched the Holy Spirit for the last time.

According to your teachings, people go to hell because they weren't arbitrarily "chosen"… The gift of God isn't Faith to some he chooses! It's Grace to those who have faith.

We all deserve to go to H e l l. The problem is we don't really believe that.
